Got a full day in Durmitor and want to pack in as much as possible? The combo of morning rafting + afternoon jeep safari is our most popular two-activity day. You get the adrenaline of the Tara’s rapids plus the wide-open beauty of Durmitor’s plateaus — and it all fits in a single day starting and ending in Žabljak.
Why Combo Works
One activity alone leaves you wanting more. Two activities in different styles on the same day gives you contrast: you start physically engaged on the water, then switch to passive observation through the mountains. By dinner, you’ve seen the Tara from inside and Durmitor from above.
The Morning: 3h Rafting
Start 9:00 AM from our base in Žabljak. Full neoprene gear fitted, safety briefing, short transport to launch point. On the water 10:00–13:00, covering about 14km through the upper Tara inside the national park. Moderate rapids, swim stops, photo opportunities. Back to Žabljak around 13:30.
Lunch Break (45 minutes)
Short change into dry clothes, quick lunch at our base or at a nearby restaurant (included if booked as combo). Your body transitions from “active” to “ready to explore.”
The Afternoon: 4h Jeep Safari
14:30 departure in 4×4 jeeps, small groups (4–6 per vehicle). Route covers Durmitor’s iconic viewpoints:
- Black Lake (Crno Jezero) — the most photographed spot in Durmitor
- Curevac Viewpoint — panoramic view of Tara Canyon from 1,625m
- Saddle Pass — crosses between two major peaks
- Stopp at traditional shepherd’s katun (summer farm) for local cheese and honey
- Return via scenic mountain roads by 18:30
Options: we run both The Ring of Durmitor and Tara Canyon Jeep Safari — tell us at booking which scenery interests you more.
