The location is the point
Zabljak is compact, and Durmitor Retreat sits right in the middle of it:
- Our tour office (Narodnih Heroja bb): ~200 m. Book, ask questions, or catch a morning departure without any driving.
- Black Lake: 3 km — a pleasant 40-minute walk or 5-minute drive to the national park’s most famous spot.
- Supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants: 2–5 minutes on foot.
- Savin Kuk ski center: a short drive in winter, with ski buses and taxis available.
Who it suits
Couples
A quiet, well-designed space for two, with everything walkable. Raft the Tara one day, hike to Black Lake the next, cook dinner with the mountains in the window.
Families
The kitchen is the family traveler’s best friend — picky eaters, early breakfasts, packed lunches for the trail. Our 14 km family rafting departs nearby, and kids sleep well after a canyon day.
Ski season guests
December to March, Zabljak turns into a snow town. Come back from Savin Kuk to a warm, modern apartment instead of a cramped hotel room — and dry your gear properly.
Rafting guests
Our 36 km Tara canyon rafting starts early. Staying 200 m from the meeting point means an extra hour of sleep and zero morning stress.
